Mick Maynard’s Shoes: What’s next for Rose Namajunas after UFC on ESPN 59 win?

Rose Namajunas took all the risk at UFC on ESPN 59 in accepting replacement opponent Tracy Cortez, and in the end the she held serve.

Namajunas (13-6 MMA, 11-5 UFC) proved she’s absolutely in the upper tier of the women’s flyweight division with a clear-cut unanimous decision win over Cortez (11-2 MMA, 5-1 UFC) at Ball Arena in Denver, and “Thug” Rose now is 2-1 since she moved up to her new division from strawweight, where she was a UFC champion twice over.

The 125-pound division is a bit stuck in the mud as the title picture gets sorted, however, meaning Namajunas likely has to sit idle until something logical materializes.
