A’ja Wilson has strongly solidified herself as the best player in the WNBA. She’s currently leading the league in points with an average of 28.6 on the season and rebounds with 11.7 through the Las Vegas Aces’ 6-5 record.

Wilson will be taking her talents to the international stage this summer for the 2024 Olympics in Paris, France. She will be joined by a couple of WNBA legends like Brittney Griner, Chelsea Gray, and Diana Taurasi.

The two-time MVP recently spoke on her opinion of Taurasi and being able to share the court with arguably the greatest women’s basketball player in the history of the game.

“DT has been really cool. It’s been really cool just to be a teammate of hers… You can see why she has the longevity that she has. The way that she takes care of her body, the way that she’s so in tune with the game, and understanding what she can do in executing that,” said Wilson via Desert Wave Media on X.

Taurasi is 42 years old, playing in her 20th season in the league. She’s still competing at an extremely high level, averaging 17 points and 4.5 rebounds through the Phoenix Mercury’s 6-7 record.

There wasn’t an official passing of the torch from Taurasi to Wilson, but it seems Wilson holds the reign at the top of the league’s hierarchy. The Aces may be struggling, working through lineup struggles, but the defending champions will have another chance to hoist the WNBA title trophy this season with Wilson in their corner.
