LSU's Angel Reese Makes Tuition Donation to High School Alma Mater - Sports Illustrated

The Chicago Sky topped the Indiana Fever on Sunday, thanks to a huge performance from Angel Reese, who had her eighth straight double-double.

Following the game, Reese was asked about her “rivalry” with Caitlin Clark. The rivalry dates back to their college days, though neither Reese nor Clark seem interested in talking about it.

Reese had a blunt message for everyone following Sunday’s win against the Fever.

“It’s just competition,” said Reese while speaking postgame to Holly Rowe. “I mean, they still got us, they are one up on us. So I’m just happy for the team. And I want to make it about us. Chicago, they came out tonight, so I’m just happy for us.”

Earlier this year, Reese made it clear that she doesn’t “hate” Clark at all.

“Me and Caitlin Clark don’t hate each other. I want everybody to understand that. It’s just a super-competitive game. Once I get between those lines, there’s no friends. I’m going to talk trash to you. I’m going to do whatever it takes to get in your head the whole entire game, but after the game, we can kick it. I don’t think people really realize that,” she said.

Clark had similar comments.

“I’m pretty sure that the only people who view this as a rivalry is all of you,” Clark said on Friday night. “For us, it’s just a game of basketball. That’s what it is. If it’s going to help move the game forward, then absolutely. That’s amazing. That’s what it should be. People can talk about it.”
