After withdrawing his name from the UFC 303, Conor McGregor’s return seemed questionable. While the entire combat sports fraternity eagerly anticipated his comeback into the UFC octagon, the Mystic Mac has himself dropped an update.

In a recent interview with ESPN MMA, McGregor revealed he will return to the UFC Octagon sometime at the end of 2024. Although he did not clear who he would face, he did hint it could be Michael Chandler saying,

“My comeback is scheduled for the year, sometime the end of this year, closing out the show. So, I was close to returning, we had an incident and had a postponement had to happen and, you know, it is what it is. We take it on the chin, we rock on. The fight is rescheduled for the end of this calendar year, so I’m excited about that and eager to get back.”

McGregor and Chandler were initially part of the UFC 303. However, the Irishman picked up a fractured toe in a training session a week before the bout. This forced the matchmakers to postpone the fight.

The Notorious return will certainly excite fans and UFC President Dana White. After all, he is the most money-making fighter.

Conor McGregor Drops Hint On His Career Post-UFC

While McGregor has a lot of business under his sleeves, most of his earnings came from fighting in the UFC octagon. However, it seems that Mystic Mac might be bidding adieu to the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Recently, the Notorious attended the BKFC press conference. He revealed that he has only two fights left in his UFC contract, which started speculation among combat sports fans that he might be looking for a career in bare-knuckle fighting.

McGregor joined the BKFC as co-owner earlier this year. Now, it seems that the Irishman is trying to be more than an owner. Whether he makes his way into the bare-knuckle fighting world or not, one thing is sure: the Mystic Mac has a lot of fighting left in him.
