On Tuesday night, Cameron Brink and the Los Angeles Sparks suffered a 79-70 loss to the Connecticut Sun. The Sparks suffered their fourth straight loss and sit towards the bottom of the WNBA standings with a 4-11 record.

Unfortunately for the Sparks, Brink, their talented rookie out of Stanford, suffered a scary injury early in the game. She was seen screaming in pain and had to be carried to the locker room. Brink did not return.

After the game, Curt Miller, the Sparks head coach, said Brink suffered a leg injury and will be evaluated on Wednesday.

Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese, who was selected in the 2024 WNBA Draft along with Brink, sent a brief but supportive five-word message to Brink after learning about her injury.

Maryland Terrapins forward Angel Reese (10) rebounds the ball against Stanford Cardinal forward Cameron Brink (22) in the Spokane regional semifinals of the women's college basketball NCAA Tournament at Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena.

“Prayers for my sweet girl,” Reese said on social media.

Brink and Reese met for the first time in the WNBA on May 30, when the Sky defeated the Sparks 83-73. Reese, the former LSU Tigers star, and the Sky will battle the Sparks once again on August 17. Hopefully, Brink’s injury isn’t serious enough to keep her out for that long.
