Mike Tyson Finally SPEAKS On Ryan Garcia’s N-Word R₳CIST RANT | HO
Ryan Garcia drags Mike Tyson down with him and puts him on the same level as his ‘insanity’ with harsh accusation
Boxing sensation Ryan Garcia is embroiled in controversy after a series of offensive remarks. During a live Twitter space on Thursday afternoon, Garcia came under fire for using racial slurs and mocking George Floyd, which sparked widespread outrage.
Following the backlash, Garcia announced he is seeking rehab for alcohol abuse, a decision that comes after the WBC banned him for his inflammatory rant. In his apology, Garcia attempted to shift some focus by bringing up Mike Tyson‘s past controversies, a move seen by many as an attempt to deflect blame.
“Let me get this straight, I’ve actually supported black communities,” he said.
“Have taken racism from Tim Bradley calling me a zoo animal on ESPN and turn the other cheek.
“But I’m racist [because] everyone was just drunk and saying s*** people say all the time including black men.
“If you get triggered by a word that means you are too sensitive.
“God knows my heart and how I would protect black children till the day I die.
“I was speaking against black on black crime. They took everything out of context.
“Including the Muslim part – I spoke against paedophile activity in every religion and how I don’t stand for that.
“I grew up in a neighbourhood where everyone said that word that now I’m abolishing from my vocabulary.
“I’ve supported many black men and black communities.
“I’m not mad at the outrage and I sincerely apologize if I hurt and offended anyone.
“But my pain deserves to be felt, black and brown have always united. And it will always be that way.
“I’m just a shade lighter than you, but I love you and I love black children to the point I’d die for a black child. I was actually speaking against black on black crime.
“Again, I’m sorry.”
The reaction was immediate and intense, with social media flooded with comments condemning Garcia’s actions. Prominent figures from various sports and entertainment fields, including Oscar De La Hoya and the WBC, called for accountability and education. Mike Tyson, the former heavyweight champion, voiced his opinion on his podcast, “Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson.” Tyson emphasized the importance of understanding the weight of Garcia’s words and the historical context behind them, stressing that being young or a boxer doesn’t excuse such behavior.
On July 4th, WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman announced that Garcia, a 25-year-old boxing sensation, would no longer be associated with the organization due to his racist and profane rant on X Spaces. Sulaiman expressed concerns about Garcia’s mental health and suggested substance abuse might be a factor, highlighting the urgent need for intervention to safeguard Garcia’s well-being.
Garcia’s rant included inflammatory language and hateful comments directed at Black people. He shockingly declared, “I hate nrs, I’m antiblack, I’m the triple KKK. Hey, let’s go bring George Floyd back to life and go kill that nr again.” Such statements are deeply offensive and indicative of profound disrespect for racial issues.
This incident is part of a broader pattern of erratic and troubling behavior from Garcia. Leading up to his fight with Devin Haney in April, Garcia’s social media activity was erratic and alarming, raising questions about his mental stability. He missed weight for the Haney fight, faced criticism for his commitment and focus, and later tested positive for banned substances, leading to a suspension from boxing for a year.
Adding to his troubles, Garcia was arrested in June for vandalism at the Beverly Hills Waldorf Astoria Hotel, causing over $15,000 in damages. His lack of remorse following the racist rant exacerbated the situation, as he challenged his critics on social media instead of showing contrition.
Garcia’s parents issued a public statement condemning their son’s words and highlighting his struggles with mental health. This further complicated the situation and emphasized the need for a comprehensive approach to address his issues. The public outcry was swift and severe, with prominent figures from various fields expressing their disappointment and condemnation of Garcia’s behavior.
Ryan Garcia issued a heartfelt apology to the communities he offended, acknowledging the gravity of his actions and the need to seek help. He announced that he was heading to rehab and therapy, expressing a desire to transform his life and rectify his mistakes.
