Mike Tyson officially returns to training after postponed Jake Paul fight and the footage speaks volumes

Mike Tyson has officially returned to training ahead of his proposed fight against Jake Paul and the footage speaks volumes.

Tyson was due to face Paul later this month until he suffered a medical emergency on a flight from Los Angeles to Miami in May.

He became nauseous and dizzy after an ulcer flare and received urgent attention.

Tyson’s showdown against Paul was subsequently postponed after the former world heavyweight champion received a warning from medical professionals.

The heavyweight clash has since been rearranged for November 15, with ‘The Problem Child’ taking on former UFC star Mike Perry on the original date of July 20.

‘Iron’ Mike has posted clips of his training camp on social media ahead of his ring return.

And he looks in menacing form as he showed off his power and hand speed whilst hitting the pads with trainer Rafael Cordeiro.

The 57-year-old documented his training on his Snapchat story as he posted a series of videos to his adoring fans.

Paul will welcome Tyson back to the professional ranks when they meet later this year.

The 27-year-old, however, is ‘praying and hoping’ the boxing legend is ‘good’ and ‘healthy’ amid his medical scare.

“He’s ready to go; he just needed a couple of weeks, so he’s back to training. We’re all just praying and hoping that everything is good and that he stays healthy,” he said.

“That’s first and foremost. He’s Mike Tyson at the end of the day. He has lethal knockout power and is very, very experienced. I think it is going to be a brawl regardless.”

Tyson hasn’t competed in a pro bout since June 2005 when he suffered a shock defeat to Ireland’s Kevin McBride.

But he had an exhibition against fellow great Roy Jones Jr back in November 2020.

As for Paul, the 9-1 fighter is coming off a big win over Ryan Bourland.

The former US President has had his say on the upcoming superfight.

Donald Trump has given his thoughts on the upcoming clash between Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson.

YouTuber-turned boxer Jake Paul was set to fight former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson in a boxing bout on July 20 in Arlington, Texas.

However, due to an ulcer flare up which rendered 57-year-old Tyson unfit to train for several weeks, the fight was postponed to November 15.

While Tyson recovers, several rumours of a replacement summer fight for Paul have circulated, with Mike Perry and Sean O’Malley potential opponents for the 27-year-old.

When Paul eventually faces Tyson, he can expect Donald Trump to be watching, as the former President of the United States is a well-known combat sports fan who is often seen cage side for the biggest fights in the UFC.

And the 78-year-old politician has had his say on how he sees the fight between Tyson and Paul going.

As he arrived to record the Impaulsive podcast, hosted by Paul’s older brother Logan, Trump was immediately asked who he thought would win the blockbuster fight.

“Jake or Tyson, who you got,” asked Logan.

While Trump doesn’t answer the question directly, he offered an insight into how he sees the fight going.

He said: “Look Mike was fantastic but, you know, Mike’s a little older now and you guys can fight. You can legitimately fight.

“It’s so amazing because I always thought like a UFC guy or a top contender would be able to win even at 75-years-old, but it doesn’t work that way.

“The clock is still the clock.”

In October 2022, Paul faced another ex-World Champion in the ring, as he defeated former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva by unanimous decision.

With Silva being 47 years old at the time of the fight, Paul clearly doesn’t believe that the skills of world champion athletes like Silva and Tyson fade with age, something that Trump disagrees with.

But Logan Paul seems to agree with his brother, as he has also faced a retired world champion in Floyd Mayweather, who he fought in an exhibition fight in 2021.

Since the Mayweather fight, Logan has signed for the WWE, where he claimed the United States Championship belt in less than ten matches.
