Nicki Minaj performed her greatest hits at a sold-old Madison Square Garden show last night and thought she’d give a fan a chance to shine. However, she quickly regretted it when she heard how they sounded. One fan even went as far as to say it was the ‘most awful voice they’d ever heard’. Ouch! Don’t worry, we probably couldn’t do any better!

The music star rose to mainstream fame in 2010, after releasing her debut album, Pink Friday. Since then, the 41-year-old has had endless hits for the Barbz to sing along to. However, it looks like one hasn’t been practicing well enough…

Nicki Minaj ‘snatches’ mic off fan after terrible performance

Getting the crowd involved, the Starships singer, who looked stunning in a pink sparkly bodysuit and matching heels, let one fan give their rendition of her hit, The Night is Still Young.

However, upon hearing how their voice sounded, the singer jokingly ran to the side of the stage to ‘snatch’ the mic back.

The crowd then burst into fits of laughter, and cheered as Nicki took over to steal the stage, as always.

Of course, the ’embarrassing moment’ went viral on X, formerly known as Twitter as fans added their two cents.

“As she should’ve cause they were playing,” penned one.

“I’ve seen more clips of the audience singing than I’ve seen her actually doing any singing or rapping herself at these shows,” another said.

A third wrote: “In her defense, she was in the right to do it.”

“This might be the most awful voice I’ve heard in my entire life, I feel sorry for anyone at the show,” one said.

However, others cleared up that it was a part of the show that the singer did ‘every night’. Nonetheless, we wouldn’t want to be on the other side of the mic.

“Ngl she’s mad funny for doing this at multiple concerts,” laughed one Barb.

The star is ‘branching out’

It looks like Nicki’s been busy lately. As well as her huge tour, the singer has recently teamed up with Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio, releasing her own sneaker with UK brand LØCI.

Taking to her Instagram to announce the exciting collab, the Anaconda singer posted a reel showcasing a pink sneaker with a picture of her on the tongue, writing: “4/12 = 11 new pairs of my OWN sneaker. 11 completely different designs for you to choose from. An absolute dream come true. I can’t WAIT for you guys to see my 1st collection!!!!”

The star also announced she was now an “owner & partner” in the brand. After her announcement, it was reported the website crashed due to the amount of traffic.
