WNBA news: 'I feel great': Diana Taurasi on her recovery and the Mercury

Phoenix Mercury star Diana Taurasi received bad news on Friday. The WNBA legend has been excluded from the Top 30 in an early All-Star Game vote.

Taurasi made headlines in an inclusion for the U.S. Olympics team this month.

The veteran player’s placement on the team prevented Dallas Wings star Arike Ogunbowale from making it despite a 25.4 points per game average presently. Taurasi averages 16.9 points per game.

The all-star vote isn’t much more impartial. Six Indiana Fever players were included in the votes while Taurasi was left off. Even so, fans correctly righted Ogunbowale’s Olymics snub placing her in the top five in all-star votes.

The top five players in all-star voting rank as follows: No. 1 A’ja Wilson (Las Vegas), No. 2 Caitlin Clark (Indiana), No. 3 Aliyah Boston (Indiana), No. 4 Breanna Stewart (New York) and No. 5 Arike Ogunbowale (Dallas).

The fan vote is in some ways based on which franchise’s fans vote the most, but players like Wilson, Stewart, Ogunbowale and New York Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu are all worthy of their high rankings on the list.
