Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark spoke on the upcoming game vs. the Chicago Sky
The Indiana Fever just picked up their fourth-straight win on Friday, defeating the Atlanta Dream by a final score of 91-79. Amid their best stretch of the season, Indiana will put their winning streak to the test on Sunday when they face the Chicago Sky.
This will be the third meeting between Indiana and Chicago this season, with the Fever winning the last two. Ahead of this matchup, Fever star Caitlin Clark was asked about the perceived rivalry between Indiana and Chicago, saying that’s more of a media-driven narrative.
“I’m pretty sure the only people that view this as a rivalry is all of you,” Clark said to the media. “For us, like it’s just a game of basketball… If it’s gonna help move the game forward, absolutely, like that’s amazing. That’s what it should be. People could talk about it.”

While Clark downplayed the rivalry that is headlined by her and fellow rookie Angel Reese, she added a message to the WNBA, saying this game should be played at the United Center where the Chicago Bulls play their home games.
“I saw the ticket prices, I guess the only thing is I’m surprised we’re not playing at the United Center,” Clark added. “I thought that would have been really good for the game and really good for all the women’s basketball fans in Chicago. Maybe there’s a conflict of some sort that I don’t know about. Obviously, that’s a little above my pay grade, but we’re excited. One game at a time.”
Friday night’s Fever vs. Dream game was moved to State Farm arena, where over 17,000 fans sold out the building, which is not the first time one of Clark’s games has been relocated to a bigger venue.
The WNBA’s Atlanta Dream typically play in a 3,500-seat arena.
But for tonight’s game against Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever, they moved it to the nearby NBA arena.
The game sold out and set a franchise record with 17,575 fans in attendance.

As Clark mentioned, perhaps there is a conflict that does not allow Sunday’s game to be moved to United Center, but it would be great for the WNBA to have this marquee matchup host as many fans as possible.
