Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese is in a league of her own after the Sky defeated the Seattle Storm, 84-71, on Sunday.
Reese broke the WNBA record for the most consecutive double-doubles in league history with her 13th straight. She passed WNBA and Los Angeles Sparks legend Candace Parker, who had 12 straight double-doubles, spanning from 2009 to 2010.
Reese finished the game with 17 points on 8 of 15 shooting and 14 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough. Sky guard Chennedy Carter added 21 points of her own.
After the game, another WNBA legend, Rebecca Lobo, gave her thoughts on Reese’s impressive record. Lobo only needed one word to describe it: “Incredible.”

Considering Parker’s WNBA dominance, Reese passing her for a WNBA record in her rookie season is nothing short of incredible.
Lobo played six years in the WNBA from 1997 to 2003. She was a WNBA All-Star in 1999 and named to the All-WNBA second-team in her rookie season. She also won an NCAAW Championship with the UConn Huskies in 1995. In 2017, Lobo was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame.

Reese has also been named a WNBA All-Star during her first season, joining Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark as the only two rookies to make an All-Star team this year. The former LSU Tigers star is averaging 13.9 points and 11.7 rebounds per game this year.
