The list of big names set to join Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman on the big screen keeps growing.

Over the last few months we have brought you update after update on the upcoming Deadpool 3 film.

From as far back as 2022, we’ve known the projected release date of the third instalment, thanks to Ryan Reynolds finally spilling the beans in a video posted to social media.

Reynolds also used the opportunity to announce to fans that Hugh Jackman will reprise his role as Wolverine in the movie, in typical hilarious Ryan Reynolds fashion.

Jackman has played Wolverine since 2000’s X-Men, including in the X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie that introduced Reynolds as Deadpool. There had been reports of Marvel recasting Wolverine for the MCU now that it owns the rights to the character again but, at least for now, that’s not the case.

Deadpool 3 will be 10th time Jackman has played the X-Men superhero, but the first time since 2017’s Logan, which was widely accepted as his farewell to the character, especially given that (spoiler warning) Wolverine dies at the end.

Last summer, the Wrexham A.F.C co-owner shared the first picture of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine for Deadpool 3.

He shared the image with the caption: “Don’t blink.”

Earlier this month, we joined in on the speculation surrounding Henry Cavill also potentially being added to the cast in what would be his first appearance in the Marvel universe.

The English actor is reportedly set to play the role of a ‘multiverse Wolverine variant’ in the upcoming blockbuster.

Despite the mixed reviews of the Superman films, Cavill’s portrayal of the Man of Steel was generally well-received and there will be a large contingency who will want to see him maintain a presence in the universe in whatever capacity.

Once Cavill’s role in the new Deadpool gets confirmed, speculation will turn to his character’s appearance. Will he wear a long dark coat? Will he have a beard? So many unanswered questions.

We were treated to the first teaser of the upcoming third instalment during last month’s SuperBowl commercial break. The ad also revealed the official title of the flick will be Deadpool & Wolverine.

Filming reportedly wrapped in January, with the official UK cinema release set to be July 25th.

Now, it seems yet another huge name could be joining the already star-studded film, and it’s Hugh Jackman himself who may have lifted the lid on the late inclusion.

Responding to a post by Jackman on his Instagram account, Channing Tatum commented: “Letttsss gooo daddy!!!!”

Shortly after, Jackman shared a screenshot of the comment on his Instagram story, tagging the actor and captioning: “Lovin’ you is easy, ’cause you’re be…”

This led to a horde of fans rushing to their own social media accounts to speculate that Channing Tatum has been cast as fan favourite character Gambit in Deadpool 3.

Why? You might be wondering. Because Gambit’s real name is Beau, and that is what many fans believe Jackman was about to follow up with before he abruptly ended the sentence.

Is it a big stretch from the passionate fandom? Or has Jackman really cleverly just given us all an insight into the production that has been kept tightly under wraps from day one.

The character of Gambit is known for his charming personality and ability to manipulate kinetic energy, which matches a lot of the traits that Tatum has as an actor.

One way or another, we’re all going to find out come July. Only four months left to wait!
