No joke: “The Witcher” muscleman Henry Cavill even trained his moustache (!) for his new film – S

Henry Cavill (“The Witcher”, “Man Of Steel”) is in pretty good shape, hardly anyone would dispute that. However, for his new film “The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare” a rather unusual training was necessary: moustache training!

Henry Cavill is one of those actors who has been in impressive physical shape on the big screen for several years now: While he was still sinewy and slim in “ War of the Gods ”, Cavill presented himself with proper muscles in “ Man Of Steel ” and “ The Witcher ” – and even in his appearances as Sherlock Holmes in the “ Enola Holmes ” films on Netflix, the frock coat stretches over his thick upper arms.

So it’s safe to say that Henry Cavill has spent an hour or two of his life in the gym. But for his latest film, Cavill had to train a part of his body that he had probably never trained before: his moustache.

In his upcoming film “ The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare ”, Cavill sports a magnificent beard and moustache , following on from previous beard films such as “ Mission: Impossible 6 ”, where Cavill’s moustache famously ensured that his upper lip in “ Justice League ” was computer generated. But back to “The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare”:

Moustache training with Henry Cavill

In an interview with the film website CinemaBlend, Cavill was asked about his new facial hair and how it came about. Cavill explains: “I think it turned out very nicely. I had the idea of having a really bushy beard and a moustache. Of course, it took some time to grow it, so there was a certain evolution.”

Cavill continued that he always wanted to wear a twirled, waxed moustache look. “But that takes training. Not just for me, I had to learn how much hair wax I needed for the beard and what it should look like. The hair itself also needs training so that it stays in the right position.”

Without this training, Cavill continued in the interview with CinemaBlend, the mustache might not stay in the right position when he got a little warmer during filming. “All the hair wax would melt and you would just be left with a droopy mustache.”

In “The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare,” Henry Cavill plays a character named Gus March-Phillipps, who is tasked with putting together the first black ops commando in history. In order to turn the tide in the fight against the seemingly overwhelming Nazis during World War II, March-Phillipps and his team are tasked with sabotage the German submarines.

Directed by Guy Ritchie (“Sherlock Holmes”, “The Gentlemen”), the film features a huge cast of stars. In addition to Cavill, “Reacher” actor Alan Ritchson , Eiza GonzĂĄlez from “3 Body Problem” and “Snake Eyes” star Henry Golding as well as Til Schweiger as (presumably) a Nazi leader will also be seen.
