Sure, he looks dashing when he’s cleaned up for the red carpet, but that fresh-out-of-bed facial hair only supersizes Cavill’s appeal. Though we wish we could be his Lois Lane, the actor also known as Clark Kent is reportedly dating martial arts fighter-turned-actress Gina Carano.

Hard to believe, but Cavill wasn’t always a man of steel. “I was fat,” the 30-year-old Brit, seen here showing some serious skin in 2011’s Immortals, told Details in its June/July issue. “I was Fat Cavill.”

Besides the six-pack, the best part of Cavill’s body might just be his brain. “I’m a serious geek. I mean, I seriously want to own a unicorn when I’m older … or a Pegasus,” the former star of The Tudors told PEOPLE in April. “Yeah, Pegasus sounds better.”
