Henry Cavill – the actor voted the most handsome man in the world in 2022 – was surprised when he met singer Shakira on the red carpet 9 years ago.

Man of Steel actor Henry Cavill has been rumored to have a secret crush on the Colombian singer since 2015 when he expressed his excitement when he saw her on the red carpet at the premiere of The Man from U.N.C.L.E. While giving an interview, Henry was distracted by the appearance of Shakira. He looked around for a while and then asked the reporter: “Is that Shakira?”.

During a chat with a Latin TV channel to promote his new film The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare this week, the 40-year-old actor was asked about Shakira. He laughed and replied: “Of course I’m a Shakira fan. When I was growing up, Shakira was a famous singer. Her music was played on all the radios and clubs.”

Shakira is 7 years older than Henry Cavill. When the actor met Shakira on the red carpet in 2015, she was dating Spanish soccer player Gerard Piqué. In 2022, Shakira and Piqué broke up after more than 10 years of marriage and two children together. She returned to the US to settle down and was recently rumored to be dating British actor Lucien Laviscount – her co-star in the new music video.

Meanwhile, Henry Cavill is in love with the beautiful Natalie Viscuso – CEO of a Hollywood film studio. The actor made his relationship with Natalie public in April 2021 on Instagram, describing his girlfriend as a “talented and beautiful” woman.
