Of Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s three children, 12-year-old Blue Ivy certainly gets most of the attention. Here at The Root, we’ve covered everything from her dance moves to her silk press. But not much is known about Blue’s little siblings, six-year-old twins Rumi and Sir, who Bey and Jay try to keep out of the spotlight. E! News caught up with Beyonce’s mom Tina Knowles during the Kentucky Derby and got an update on the youngest Carter kids.

Knowles took time to brag on her grandbabies, who have different interests than their music-making parents but are already showing signs of greatness. She says granddaughter Rumi is a creative who excels at visual arts.

“Rumi is amazing, an amazing artist, painter and creator,” Knowles said. “I mean, how could they be anything else growing up in that environment? That’s all we talk about is creativity and fashion and the whole thing.”

And when she’s not creating, she’s making history. Back in April, the six-year-old broke big sister Blue’s record when she became the youngest woman to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 for her feature on “Protector,” a single on her mom’s latest album, Cowboy Carter. Rumi can be heard on the track asking, “Mom, can I hear the lullaby, please?”

As for Rumi’s brother Sir, Knowles says he’s more analytical and prefers math to fashion.

“Sir is very quiet and is very, very smart and does all of the numbers stuff, so he’s not into the fashion as much,” she said.

Knowles has always known her twin grandchildren have different personalities.

“The girl is really just going to rule the world, and the boy is kind of laid back and chills like the dad,” she told Us Weekly in 2019.
