Chael Sonnen Reveals How a Hacker Tricked His Wife With Fake Offensive Tweets

Chael Sonnen Explains How a Hacker Tricked His WifeChael Sonnen with his wife Brittany

Chael Sonnen has a unique fan base despite not winning a UFC title. The three-time title challenger was the first to take trash-talking to another level, even before Conor McGregor. Unfortunately, Sonnen was recently a victim of social media (X, formerly Twitter) hacking.

The hacker tweeted several offensive tweets, primarily directed against Dana White, the UFC head honcho. Funnily enough, Sonnen revealed that the hacker was so brilliant that even his wife thought he was the one who had tweeted and not the hacker.

Sonnen Reveals Details of Ambien Nap and Hacker’s Prank

Speaking to Daniel Cormier on the Good Guy / Bad Guy ESPN MMA show, the 47-year-old recounted what transpired during the infamous hacking. The Oregon native revealed it hilariously on the show.

“She thinks I had taken an Ambien and that I didn’t go to sleep. She gets the kids and rushes home to say, ‘What are you doing?’ I didn’t do this. I didn’t even take a nap, I wasn’t feeling all that bad. I took a cough drop,” said Sonnen, admitting it is difficult to backtrack when your people thought it was you.

The hacker had made scathing tweets, alleging the UFC CEO had inappropriate relationships with female UFC fighters. Interestingly, Sonnen had admitted that the hacker’s skills impressed him. On the show, he revealed the hacker’s brilliant tactic, even making his wife doubt him.

“He deleted some of the tweets, put out some really nasty ones, but then he deleted them. Now, when he does that, he does make it look like me. What hacker that took your device to do bad things feels bad about the things and deletes them?” Sonnen said.

Funnily enough, Sonnen revealed he came across an MMA article asking whether to believe the ex-UFC fighter was a hacking victim. The 47-year-old attributed people doubting him to the hacker’s brilliance.
