Prochazka believes Alex Pereira is using “magic and shamanic influences” to help him win fights
In a surprising turn of events, former UFC light heavyweight champion Jiri Prochazka has expressed his belief that his upcoming opponent, Alex Pereira, is utilizing unconventional methods to gain an edge in the octagon. Prochazka, who is set to try and snag the title against Pereira at UFC 303, has revealed that he suspects his rival is relying on “magic” and “shamanic influences” to aid his performance.
During a recent interview on the MMA Hour, Prochazka shared his thoughts on Pereira’s preparation for their highly anticipated rematch. “Everybody knows he’s working with some shamanics, with some shamans from his hometown. And he believes in some spiritual help from them,” Prochazka said.
The Czech star went on to express his preference for a “clear way” of competing, stating, “I believe in the best performance, in the human performance right here, right now without no magic.” Prochazka’s concerns suggest a belief that Pereira is using unconventional methods to gain an advantage, which he is determined to overcome through his own merits.
Pereira, the current UFC light heavyweight champion, has not publicly acknowledged or denied Prochazka’s allegations. However, the Brazilian fighter’s background has raised some eyebrows in the MMA community. Pereira hails from Sao Paulo, Brazil, a region known for its rich cultural heritage and beliefs in traditional spiritual practices.
The rematch between Prochazka and Pereira is scheduled to take place on August 12th at UFC 303 in Las Vegas. With both fighters eager to emerge victorious, the fight promises to be a thrilling clash of styles and ideologies. Prochazka’s claims have added an intriguing layer of intrigue to the already highly anticipated bout, leaving fans and pundits alike eager to see how the situation unfolds.
Prochazka is very eccentric himself so it’s surprising he would make such outlandish claims.
