Ryan Garcia slams controversial Toronto Pride Parade 2024: Direct Attack on Children and on God
Boxing superstar Ryan Garcia has unleashed a scathing critique of the recently concluded Toronto Pride Parade 2024, labeling it as âa direct attack on children and on God.â
The annual event, which celebrates inclusivity, equality, and LGBTQI+ culture, has long been a fixture in the cityâs calendar, attracting families and children. However, this yearâs parade has faced widespread criticism after several participants reportedly marched with sparse clothing and exhibited questionable behaviors and gestures.
In a social media post, Garcia expressed his outrage, stating, âTo have this in public with kids watching is a direct attack on children and on God. No one cares if someone wants to be gay and proud, but once children are affected it needs to be stopped. You canât just walk around naked. Even if youâre straight itâs wrong.â
The controversial parade has sparked debates on the appropriateness of such public displays and the potential impact on young minds. Videos circulating on social media show individuals walking on the public road as onlookers cheer them on, raising concerns about the eventâs suitability for family-friendly audiences.
Notably, the Toronto Pride Parade was unable to reach its culmination due to disruptions caused by pro-Palestine demonstrators. According to a report by the Toronto Sun, the parade itself was canceled on Sunday evening, but the fair and stages remained open.
Garciaâs scathing remarks have added fuel to the ongoing discussions surrounding the appropriate boundaries of public events, especially those involving children.
