Social media star Logan Paul delighted fans by incorporating the viral “hawk tuah” catchphrase into his match against LA Knight and Santos Escobar on the June 28th episode of WWE Smackdown.

The “hawk tuah” craze has taken the internet by storm since the original clip featuring Hailey Welch became a sensation on TikTok. Welch has already capitalized on the phenomenon, making a substantial profit from the sale of related merchandise. Now, the iconic phrase has crossed over into the world of professional wrestling, with WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan previously recreating the moment.

During his match, Paul seized the opportunity to taunt his opponents with the popular catchphrase. A clip shared on X (formerly Twitter) showed the social media personality sitting in the ring, with LA Knight and Santos Escobar lying on either side of him. As a referee stepped in, Paul pretended to spit while clearly uttering the words “hawk tuah,” much to the delight of the audience.

The moment was quickly transformed into a GIF, with fans expressing their amusement. “He actually did it [oh my God] hahah,” one person wrote, while another commented, “This guy is slowly becoming a legend in the ring.”

However, not everyone was impressed by Paul’s antics, with one viewer stating, “He’s so irrelevant that he needs to use other people’s popularity to build his own backup.” Others, however, defended the move, noting that it made sense for the “internet superstar wrestler” to reference “the most popular internet meme right now” as a joke.

Interestingly, the WWE has allegedly reached out to Welch and her merch partner, Jason Poteete, which may have influenced Paul’s decision to incorporate the catchphrase into his performance.

Despite Paul’s viral taunt, it was ultimately his rival LA Knight who emerged victorious, qualifying for the Money in the Bank ladder match on July 6th. The incident has once again demonstrated Logan Paul’s ability to capitalize on popular trends and engage with his audience in unique and unexpected ways.
