Despite Caitlin Clark’s commendable shooting night, the Indiana Fever lost to the Seattle Storm by the final score of 89-77.

Clark finished with 15 points in just over 38 minutes of action, recording her fifth consecutive game scoring at least 15 points. Although her turnover struggles continued as she gave the ball away six times, she also recorded six rebounds and seven assists.

The former No. 1 overall pick was efficient from all over the court, shooting 44.4 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from behind the arc.

 

Clark also made history on Thursday night by becoming the fastest player in WNBA history to record at least 300 total points, 100 rebounds, and 100 assists.

Despite her strong individual night, the Fever fell behind by 19 points in the second quarter and were never able to recover. A layup from forward Temi Fagbenle cut the deficit to just nine points near the end of the third quarter, although Seattle responded with a quick 9-0 run to put the game out of reach.

Fans were still impressed with Clark’s performance.

Jewell Loyd carried the scoring load for the Storm, dropping 34 points in 34 minutes on 10-15 shooting. She connected on six of her nine three-point attempts, pulling down five rebounds in the process.

After winning four straight games, the Fever have now dropped two consecutive contests.
