Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark spoke openly about her family amid wild start to WNBA career

Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark is one of the most popular athletes in the world. An incredible basketball player, Clark broke countless collegiate records during her time at Iowa, leading to her first overall selection in the 2024 WNBA Draft.

Clark has already gone through many ups and downs of transitioning from college basketball to the professional level, and she has also dealt with a lot of outside noise related to anything but her play on the court. Speaking recently with the media, Clark made a heartbreaking admission about how this has impacted her family.

Caitlin Clark and the Fever have started 1-5 this season.

“They see all this stuff, too. You have to remember, we’re regular people with feelings. My parents have feelings. It can definitely be hard at times,” Clark said, via Michael Lee of The Washington Post. “Honestly, I feel like I have a pretty good skill of blocking everything out. I think being in this position, you better have that skill, or else it’s going to break you at some point.”

This is a dynamic many people do not realize when a star player goes viral as often as Clark has. While this comes with the territory, it does not make it any less difficult for the family of a star player, especially one of Clark’s magnitude.

As she continues to grow, Clark will only get better at navigating all of this, and she is already doing a great job.
