After Conor McGregor Fallout, Michael Chandler Suggests Fighting Nate Diaz

Michael Chandler and Conor McGregor

Michael Chandler waited almost two years to fight Conor McGregor at UFC 303. Unfortunately, the Irishman withdrew due to a toe injury, forcing the UFC to scrap the matchup. Alex Pereira and Jiri Prochazka filled in the UFC 303 main event spot on a week’s notice.

With the McGregor fight not happening, Chandler angled up for a BMF title fight and even revealed that the UFC offered him a title shot. ‘Iron’s has now come forward with a new suggestion for his next fight: someone with a history with ‘Notorious.’

Nate Diaz Fight Over McGregor
The former three-time Bellator lightweight champion recently engaged with some fans on X. One of the fans picked McGregor to defeat Chandler, sending the American into retirement. Moreover, he expressed interest in seeing the trilogy fight between McGregor and Nate Diaz afterward.

Interestingly, Chandler came across the tweet. The 38-year-old suggested an even better idea to the fan. “Sit down, Ron… better idea – me and @NateDiaz209 fight like real men, while Conor sits on a yacht and watches on PPV in his slippers. #ufcnoche #riyadhseason,” Chandler tweeted.

Funnily enough, the former Missouri Tigers wrestler has posted conflicting tweets on X. Soon after, the Nashville native flirted with fighting the Irishman at UFC 306. Moreover, he even agreed with a fan who tweeted that McGregor wouldn’t fight again.

Nobody knows why Chandler has been tweeting and responding to fans’ queries in a conflicting manner. Some might say he lost his senses after realizing his two-year wait for a huge money fight against Conor McGregor didn’t materialize.

Nonetheless, even without the Irishman, the 6th-ranked lightweight has huge fights ahead. Chandler is within reach of a rematch with Justin Gaethje, a BMF title fight with Max Holloway, or even a potential shot at Islam Makahchev.
