PFL Claims To Enter Billion Dollar Worth Beside UFC, WWE, ONE, and AEW Following The Expansion In Africa
PFL
The Professional Fighters League (PFL) is growing into a major force in the global MMA market, posing a threat to its competitors. Founder Donn Davis mentioned that the companyâs value is now around $1 billion, a huge amount for an MMA organization. With many large organizations competing for top status in the MMA world, PFLâs valuation highlights its increasing influence at the global level.
Notably, the UFC has the highest valuation in combat sports, at $12.1 billion. WWE, another major wrestling promotion, has a valuation of $9.3 billion. Newer organizations like AEW and ONE Championship have also seen significant growth, with AEW valued at $2 billion. And the Singapore-based ONE Championship is now the fourth most valuable combat sports property, with a valuation of $1.3 billion. The PFL has recently reached a $1 billion valuation.
Francis Ngannou Responds as PFL Sets 2025 Timeline for Africa Events, Outpacing UFC
Francis Ngannou, the former UFC Heavyweight Champion, has recently signed with PFL. However, he has not yet competed in any fights for the PFL. In addition to his fighter role, PFL has appointed him as PFL Africaâs chairman.
Ngannou has expressed his thoughts on the PFLâs achievement in securing the rights to bring mixed martial arts events to the African continent, beating out the UFC in the process. While speaking about the new opportunity, the former UFC heavyweight champ said,
âI am excited and honored to serve as Chairman of PFL Africa. A league that will shape the very foundation of African MMA. As we have seen, there is a great wealth of talent in Africa that is just waiting to be given a global stage.â
Francis Ngannouâs move into the boxing ring saw him lose his first two professional matches to Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua in Saudi Arabia. However, if he returns to boxing, itâs unclear who he might face next. Also, there is no update on whether his next fight will be in boxing or MMA is still undecided.
