Fighting Nerds’ Caio Borralho Reveals Unique Fight Approach

MMA is an individual sport, but there are several MMA super teams. Eagles MMA in Dagestan, American Top Team in Miami, City Kickboxing in Auckland, and Xtreme Couture are some of the best in the business. A new super team making waves in MMA is Fighting Nerds under head coach Pablo Sucupira and UFC middleweight Caio Borralho.

Borralho Reveals Scientific Approach to MMA

Unlike typical MMA athletes, Borralho was a former maths and chemistry teacher before shifting focus to MMA. The 31-year-old, undefeated in the UFC, has an exciting approach to the fight game. ‘The Natural’ revealed it on UFC Connected.

“Fighting IQ is the most important thing in fighting. It’s kind of a scientific approach. I was a math teacher, chemistry teacher. Same methods i used to study math and chemistry , I do the same thing when I’m studying fighting,” said Borralho.

The approach has definitely helped him and his teammates in the UFC. Borralho is 6-0 in the UFC, with his latest fight a knockout victory over Paul Craig at UFC 301. Jean Silva, Mauricio Rufy, and Carlos Prates, Borralho’s teammates, are also undefeated in the UFC.

In their last visits to the Octagon, Ruffy knocked out Jamie Mullarkey at UFC 301, Prates knocked out Charles Radtke at UFC Lousiville, and Silva knocked out Charles Jourdain at UFC 303. All three are homegrown talents.

Moreover, Bruna Brasil and Thiago Moises have joined the team due to their success. With the only other big MMA gym in Sao Paulo being Chute Boxe Diego Lima, Fighting Nerds will likely have more fighters wanting to join them.
